In terms of Lessig’s “Remix” and Sousa’s fear of the loss of amateurs (Remix, 26) I think the fact that Lawrence Lessig and Stephen Colbert are actually requesting that people remix their interview, add music, and create a new spoof, even utilizing the actual dialogue in the interview in a creative and amusing way. I think we don’t have to worry about Sousa’s fear, “The tide of amateurism cannot but recede” (Remix, 27), because it’s obvious that amateurs are remixing and having fun with remixes and these remixes are not stifling creativity, but challenging people to be creative in a gauntlet thrown down way. The remixed works are easily available to others as well and they contribute to the dialogue in a satirical way.
